Dr. Rasheed Toyin Ogundare is an initiative-taking scholar from Ogun State, Nigeria, with a strong academic and research background.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Department of Physics, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and graduated among the top three students during his set. He further pursued his Master’s degree at the Department of Physics, University of Lagos, Akoka where he deepened his expertise in his field of study and graduated as the best student with distinction.
Due to his academic prowess and to gaining international experience, he decided to study for his doctoral degree. After several tests and interviews, he was awarded several academic scholarships (both partially and fully funded) in different continents and countries like United State of America, China, India, South Africa, Chile, and others.
Rasheed was awarded a fully funded Chinese Government Scholarship (which covered his tuition fees, medical insurance, accommodation as well as monthly stipend) for his Doctorate degree, a prestigious recognition that followed a series of rigorous interviews and examinations..
This opportunity enabled him to further his academic journey and engage in advanced research. He was able to complete the program at Soochow University, China in three years due to his hard work, perseverance and dedication towards his study.
Possessing both theoretical and experimental research skills, Rasheed has contributed to the academic community with publications in reputable journals. His work reflects a dedication to innovation, and he is currently designing a recovery system to recycle paper, contributing to sustainability and environmental protection.
Beyond his academic pursuits, Rasheed is also actively engaged in social initiatives, such as raising funds for the Public Initiative Project on Zero Waste Events and creating awareness about cancer. His commitment to environmental sustainability and health advocacy extends through his involvement in donations to Novaloop Co. Ltd., a member of the Friends of Nature Community while he was in China. He is also a co-founder of Wasomi Charity Foundation.
This foundation helps to support the less privileged children in Africa in creating awareness as well as educating them in terms of skills, healthcare, technology, etc. Rasheed’s diverse experiences and passion for both research and social responsibility highlight his commitment to making meaningful contributions to both academia and society.
Dr. Rasheed has come to develop a great interest in near-field and far-field thermal radiation with application to cancer treatment, Nano photonics, Renewable energy, Modeling and Optimization of thermal radiation, thermal conductivity, and new research area towards scanning tunnelling microscope, atomic force microscope, electron spin resonance, full-cleaning of materials, lithography, molecular beam electron, etc.
He is skillful in using MATLAB, Mathematica, UNISOKU machine with deep Knowledge of Nanonis for Simulation. He is a member of Nigerian Institute of Physics (NIP), American Physical Society (APS), to mention but a few. He is not slowing down as he is ready to take up new challenges.
