The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has scheduled its 2024 Policy Meeting for Thursday, July 18, 2024. This annual meeting is crucial for setting guidelines and cut-off marks for admissions into Nigerian tertiary institutions. Chaired by the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, the meeting will involve key stakeholders from regulatory agencies like the National University Commission (NUC), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), and National Council for Colleges of Education (NCCE), as well as heads of various tertiary institutions and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

During the meeting, the JAMB Registrar will present reports on the recently concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and ongoing Direct Entry (DE) applications. This presentation will include an analysis of candidates’ performance and key performance indicators that may influence admission policies. Stakeholders will also review issues from previous admission cycles, determine the minimum admissible scores for 2024, and discuss compliance with current advisories.

The outcomes of this meeting are crucial for prospective students, as they will set the benchmarks for admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education in Nigeria.
