The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has successfully disbursed N20,000 in monthly upkeep stipends to 20,371 students in six universities across the country. The stipend, which was for the month of July, covers only students whose institutional fees have already been paid by NELFUND.
The six beneficiary schools are:
– Bayero University, Kano
– Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State
– University of Ilorin, Kwara State
– University of Benin, Edo State
– University of Ibadan, Oyo State
– University of Maiduguri, Borno State
According to NELFUND’s Director of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Ibom Uche, the organization is working to commence the payment process for students from approximately 55 additional tertiary institutions within the next two weeks.
The initiative is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to supporting Nigerian students by ensuring financial stability throughout their academic pursuit. NELFUND remains steadfast in its mission to support the educational aspirations of Nigerian students by providing financial assistance for studies at qualifying institutions and ensuring the timely disbursement of stipends for day-to-day expenses.
