Two Chinese expatriates, identified as Chen Wenguang and Liang Ding, have been abducted in the Kémta/Abule-Owu area along Onigbedu Road in Ogun State.
The two were abducted around 1:45 pm on Sunday when they left their company, Good One Carton Company, to visit their friends without notifying security personnel.
A police source revealed that the kidnappers had contacted the company to demand a ransom for their release.
The spokesperson for the state command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and stated that efforts to secure the release of the duo were ongoing.
She said, “The company’s security supervisor reported that one of the expatriates called to inform him that Wenguang and Ding had been kidnapped and that the kidnappers were demanding money in exchange for their release.”
Odutola added that operatives from the Ewekoro Division, along with local vigilantes, military personnel, and other security groups, had searched the entire Kémta Village forest but were unable to find the duo.
This incident comes after the abduction of three Indian nationals who were kidnapped on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in May and later released after being held captive for three days.
