President Tinubu To Travel To France On Monday

Arrangements have been concluded for President Bola Tinubu to embark on a trip to France on Monday. A terse statement issued on Sunday night by the presidential media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, noted that the president will be departing for the trip from Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Ngelale explained that the president would return to the country after his brief work stay in France. The statement was, however, silent on the motive for the president’s trip.

NATIONAL REPORTS recalls that the president barred unauthorized officials of government from attending the forthcoming United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, in New York, United States. The presidency had hinged the directive on the need to reduce bloated governance costs, especially as unauthorized officials in the past traveled on the sidelines of such trips for personal interests.

The directive was handed down to officials of government by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajiabiamila, during a one-day retreat organized by State House management for heads of agencies under the presidency.

This development comes as Vice President Kashim Shettima described President Bola Tinubu as the most demonized politician in Nigeria. Shettima disclosed that his house in Maiduguri is better than Tinubu’s Bourdillion residence.

In another news, Cold war brews among Tinubu’s aides over president’s video on social media. Also, Abacha’s family drags Tinubu to court over revocation of late Head of State’s Abuja property.
