The Junior Chamber International (JCI) ROCKCITY President; Dr. Hazzan Kafidipe, has called for collective efforts in empowering young people, stating that “As we empower the youths, we create better communities and a better world”
Dr. Kafidipe made this call at the 3rd edition of the Ogun Youth Development and Empowerment Summit, organised by JCI ROCKCITY which was held at the Cultural Center, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.
The summit, with the theme “360-Degree Leadership: Building Financial Resilience and Planning for Economic Uncertainties,” aimed to equip young people with skills to navigate economic challenges.
In attendance included the, JCI Senator Temi Alade-Mustapha, Olori Aminah Adeleye-Matemilola, the Olori to the Olowu of Owu kingdom, Rasheedat Agbaje, JCI Senator Ibi Shofekun, JCI Senator Adekunle Babatunde Samson, JCI Sen. Abiola Olorunnisola, JCI Sen. Dayo Niyi-Idowu, the JCI Nigeria Dir. Of international affairs; JCIN Amb. Oluwatoyin Atanda, the SA to the Ogun State Governor on Youth empowerment and job creation; Hon. Abiola Odetola, Shomuyiwa Sheriffdeen, Adewole Onajirin, JCIN Ambassador Johnson Shoyeye, JCI Senator Delemi Ogunmuyiwa, JCIN Amb. (Barr.) Motolani Oyedeji, Past Chairman JCIN Ambassador Oriyomi Isaac, Mr. Ola Abass KAMARA(the LGI, NYSC Abeokuta South LG), Chairman of Ogun Youth Assembly; Hon. Habeeb Whyte Esq., JCIN Ambassador Seun Adebayo, Assistant Commandant of Corp Bode Kushimo, Mr. Micheal Ogunbiyi, Honorable commissioners in the state, SAs, SSAs and some representatives of the Ogun State government amongst others.
Dr. Kafidipe explained that the summit was organized to help young individuals understand and learn from guest speakers and experts on how to build their finances and plan for economic uncertainties.
According to him “We all have to come together; all the youth, even the government, the private and public sectors. We all have to come together for us to empower the youths. We believe that when we empower the youths, when they are better people, then they will make our communities better places,” Dr. Kafidipe concluded.
Dr. Kafidipe therefore urged everyone to come together to empower youths, he urged the youths to be good ambassadors of the nation and to always maintain good moral values, saying that collective efforts are necessary for creating positive change.
In her remarks, wife of the Olowu of Owu kingdom, Olori Aminah Adeleye-Matemilola commended JCI ROCKCITY for organizing the summit and advised the youths to work hard, saying that there is no shortcut to success.
Our correspondent reports that the program included certificate awards and empowerment for some individuals, with training in various vocational skills such as tie and dye, bead making, soap making, graphic designing and many more.
