The West African Students’ Union (WASU) has urged President Bola Tinubu to take decisive action against those sabotaging Dangote Refinery’s efforts to refine petroleum products for local consumption and export.

WASU Executives, led by Comrade Romans Pillah, lamented Nigerians’ suffering due to insufficient petroleum supply despite being a major crude exporter.

They noted Dangote Refinery’s potential to drive down petrol prices but regretted sabotage attempts.

The students warned:

“If sabotage continues, WASU will name identified cabals and organize protests.”

They assured support for Dangote Refinery, citing benefits such as:

– Ending importation of refined products
– Reducing corruption in the oil and gas industry
– Boosting the economy
– Creating thousands of jobs
– Ensuring product sustainability and affordability

WASU urged President Tinubu to:

– Support the project
– Direct NNPC/NNPCL to compel International Oil Companies (IOCs) to sell crude oil to Dangote Refinery and other local refineries

They commended Aliko Dangote and Dr. Edwin Devakumar for their patriotism and steadfastness in establishing the refinery.

The students stressed:

“The President must not tolerate economic sabotage… Anyone opposing this national desire will face the wrath of the masses.”
