According to Monalisa Dike, Corporate Communications Department, NELFUND, Awomolo repaid the loan in full, which initially amounted to N1,000 for two sessions.

In his letter to the Managing Director of NELFUND, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, Awomolo expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian government for the opportunity, stating:

“The loan…was instrumental in helping him complete his law degree.”

Awomolo also acknowledged NELFUND’s transparency and accountability in managing student loans.

Monalisa Dike reiterated that Awomolo’s repayment came as a testament to the lasting impact of President Bola Tinubu’s initiative and the ongoing relevance of NELFUND in supporting Nigerian students.

She added that the funds would be used to fund the education of students who need the loan now.

Dike stated:

“Awomolo’s repayment demonstrates the lasting impact of President Bola Tinubu’s initiative and NELFUND’s ongoing relevance in supporting Nigerian students.”
