President Bola Tinubu has pledged the Federal Government’s support for the government and people of Borno State amid the devastating floods. Tinubu made this promise during his visit to Maiduguri on Monday, expressing sadness over the massive losses caused by the flooding.
According to reports, the floods have killed 37 people, displaced about a million, and destroyed property worth millions of naira.
Tinubu told the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn El-Kanemi, “I am here to sympathize with you. I heard the report, and my Vice President gave details to me personally. I was going directly to America but I had to call off the trip to be with you.”
“I thank you very much for your leadership and your various prayers. This is one disaster that we must pay attention to; we will help Borno State.”
