Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North Senatorial District, has denied allegations that the All Progressives Congress (APC) engaged in vote-buying during the Edo State governorship election. Speaking to journalists after casting his vote at Iyamho, Ward 10 Unit 01 in Estako West Local Government Area, Oshiomhole described the allegations as “laughable”.

He attributed the large voter turnout to the people’s desire for good governance, citing his own track record as governor. Oshiomhole highlighted the durability of infrastructure projects he initiated 12-13 years ago, contrasting them with the shorter-lived projects of the current administration.

The denial comes amid internal APC conflicts, with some party chieftains accusing Oshiomhole of undermining the campaign of APC governorship candidate Senator Monday Okpebholo. The presidency has reportedly warned Oshiomhole to distance himself from Okpebholo’s campaign.
