London – Daniel Dubois successfully defended his IBF world heavyweight title against Anthony Joshua, knocking him out in the fifth round at Wembley Stadium.
Dubois dominated the fight, winning all five rounds and knocking Joshua down four times.
In the fifth round, Joshua landed two strong right hands, but Dubois quickly recovered and caught Joshua with successive right hands, sending him to the canvas.
Joshua failed to beat the count, handing Dubois the victory.
“Are you not entertained?” Dubois asked the crowd. “I’m a gladiator. I am a warrior to the bitter end. I want to get to the top level of this sport and reach my potential.”
The win solidifies Dubois’ position as IBF champion, a title he acquired after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt to face Tyson Fury in a rematch.
Usyk became boxing’s first four-belt undisputed heavyweight champion in May, holding the WBO, WBC, WBA, and IBF titles.
Dubois had won the interim IBF title in June and was elevated to world champion status upon Usyk’s vacancy.
This victory marks a significant milestone in Dubois’ career, cementing his status as a formidable force in the heavyweight division.
