Abuja – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the collation of results from the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday will commence today, September 22, 2024, at 10 am.
This was disclosed in a statement issued early Sunday by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Edo State, Dr. Anugbum Omuoha.
“The collation of results for the ongoing Edo State governorship election will resume today, Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 10 am,” the statement read.
Omuoha assured the public that the collation process would be conducted with full transparency, in line with the commission’s existing regulations.
“We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the parties as we strive to ensure a credible and accurate outcome of this important election,” he said.
The REC further appealed to all stakeholders to remain calm and orderly, stressing that INEC remains dedicated to delivering a free, fair, and transparent election in Edo State.
The announcement comes amidst reports of protests and controversies surrounding the election.
