Bobrisky Spent Only Three Weeks in Prison – Report

An investigative report by FIJ has revealed that social media influencer and crossdresser, Bobrisky, spent only three weeks of his six-month sentence in prison, with the rest spent in a secret location.

Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, was sentenced to six months in prison for naira abuse in April. However, according to the FIJ report, Bobrisky left Kirikiri prison after just three weeks and spent the remaining time in an unknown location.

The report follows revelations by Martins Vincent Otse, a social media activist, who released an audio recording of Bobrisky claiming to have spent most of his sentence outside prison and paying N15 million to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to drop the ‘money laundering’ charge against him.

A prison official confirmed to FIJ that Bobrisky spent only three weeks in Kirikiri prison, where he received VIP treatment and lived in a special cell. The official stated, “Bob spent only three weeks here with us in Kirikiri before she was taken out to another place we don’t know… That was where she spent her time; it was an ‘arrangee thing’. And money was involved.”

The Nigerian Correctional Service has neither denied nor confirmed the allegations, but the interior ministry has suspended two deputy controllers of corrections over the matter.
