Sunday Igboho Refutes Allegation of Oil Fraud, Threatens Legal Action

A Prominent Yoruba Nation Activist, Dr. Sunday Igboho has denied allegations of involving in a #1.6 billion oil fraud, describing the claims as “fabricated and baseless”.

In a statement made available to journalists through his spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki challenged the publishers of the allegations to provide evidence to support their claims.

The statement stated that Igboho will not be distracted from his advocacy for the Yoruba Nation and will pursue legal action against those responsible for the defamatory publication.

According to the press release which reads in parts ” Our attention has been drawn to a fabricated and baseless article circulated by certain media platforms, alleging that Dr. Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has been implicated in a N1.6 billion oil fraud.”

“This is nothing but a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputation of a man known for his integrity, commitment to justice, and unwavering support for the freedom and rights of the Yoruba people.”

“We categorically state that Dr. Chief Sunday Igboho has no involvement in any fraudulent oil transaction, nor has he ever acted as a surety for any individual in such a deal. The allegations being circulated are completely false, and we challenge the publishers of these defamatory claims to provide credible evidence to substantiate their reports. Dr. Chief Sunday Igboho is a selfless leader whose mission is solely centered on the liberation of the Yoruba Nation and the welfare of his people.”

“It is important to highlight that this smear campaign is part of a continued effort by certain entities to distract and discredit him in the face of his advocacy for the Yoruba Nation. This is not the first time falsehoods have been peddled against him, and it is disheartening to see reputable news outlets being used as instruments for character assassination.”

The statement therefore threatened to take a legal action against any individual responsible for the fake defamatory publication, therefore urged well-meaning individuals and media organizations to disregard the baseless accusations and verify their information from credible sources before sharing.
