Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested 41-year-old Ibrahim Aliu in Papa Olosun, Oja Odan in the Yewa North Local Government Area of the state for allegedly defiling his 12-year-old daughter.
Aliu was arrested on Thursday after his estranged wife, Temitope Egbebi, lodged a complaint against him at the Oja Odan Divisional Police Office. Egbebi alleged that Aliu had carnal knowledge of the victim every time she visited him for the holidays.
The spokesperson for the state police command, SP Omolola Odutola, disclosed that Egbebi made this discovery after taking the girl to the State Hospital, Ilaro for examination and treatment of discharges from her private part.
According to Odutola, “He defiled her since about two years ago each time the innocent girl went to spend the holiday with him. The sexual assault was discovered when she took the girl to the State Hospital, Ilaro for examination and treatment over untreated vaginal discharge that has been occurring in the little child’s reproductive organ for an unknown period.”
Aliu confessed to the crime during interrogation and will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.
