TSAN Rebirth Team Vows To Prosecute Awunah, Others Over “AWUNAH LOOT”

The TSAN rebirth team, a frontier group championing the recovery of the Scout Association of Nigeria from the mismanagement under the past leadership of the association has issued a strong warning against the suspended former Chief Commissioner , Dave Padopads Awunah following barrage of diversionary tactics employed by Dave Awunah to shift attention from issues of corruption running into hundreds of millions of naira which is now famously known as “Awunah Loot”.

The group’s warning was contained in a statement signed by Yusuf Yusuf and Ashimolowo Oluwaseun on behalf of the group.

It will be recalled that allegations of financial missappropiation and lack of reporting for at least six years against the former Chief Commissioner of the Association made the news following Awunah’s manipulation to return himself as the Chair of the defunct National Scout Board in a bid to escape accountability after allegations of financial misappropriation in hundreds of millions of naira were levelled against Awunah led administration.

A recent document released by the World Scout Body, WOSM shows that Awunah failed to account for $40,680, about 70 million naira in WOSM funding alone. Other allegations of financial missappropiation of internally generated revenue has been in the news with evidence showing that Awunah has misappropriated at least, N250, 000,000 two hundred and Fifty Million Naira.

Other evidences suggest that this amount may be up to N300,000,000.

The group noted that instead of Awunah to be preparing for a day of reckoning by tidying the books of the association under his watch and assembling auditors to ascertain his exact amount of loot, he resulted to several tactics and further breaches of the association’s procedures by creating unconstitutional groups including sponsoring campaign of calumny against the legitimate TSAN leadership elected through a flawless constitutional process.

The group reminds Awunah and other brigands behind the scenes of recent brigandage that the law will take its full course into the popular “AWUNAH LOOT” and all those indicted will face prosecution no matter how highly placed or who they know.

The group further described the actions of the suspended scouter from Oyo, Zack Ekanola as irresponsible and un-scouting following the participation of young scouts in a public rally, an action that violates WOSM’s safe from harm policy.

It added that this irresponsible action shows Zack’s lack of scouting knowledge which has been the motivation behind his inordinate actions over the years including his suspension by Dave Awunah while serving as Chief Commissioner.

The group tasked the new TSAN leadership to restore confidence in scouting Nigeria.

Signed.
