The Edo State Joint Transition Committee, comprising the government team and governor-elect Monday Okpebholo’s team, has pledged to work together for a seamless transition. At the inaugural meeting held at the John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy in Benin on Friday, State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation Chris Nehikhare emphasized the primary objective of facilitating a smooth government handover.
“We look forward to the collaborative efforts of all members in ensuring a seamless transition,” Nehikhare said.
Joseph Eboigbe, Chairman of the Joint Transition Committee and Secretary to the Edo State Government, briefed the committee on the state government’s program and expressed readiness for a flawless transition with the incoming administration.
Pius Odubu, Chairman of Okpebholo’s team and former deputy governor, welcomed the state government’s initiative towards a seamless transition. He urged the government team to provide all necessary documents, both hardcopy and soft copies, to brief the incoming administration thoroughly.
“Let’s not try to hide information so that the incoming government will be well briefed,” Odubu said.
The handover ceremony is scheduled for November 12 in Benin.
