Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has promised better collaboration with retirees to develop the public service. He received the ‘Special Appreciation Award’ for regular pension payments and resuscitation of gratuity payments from the Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries.

Represented by Head of Service Kehinde Onasanya, Abiodun was commended for increasing quarterly gratuity releases and recognizing pensioners in palliative initiatives. He congratulated members for their contributions, acknowledging their dedication and service.

“Our administration remains committed to promoting a strong and fruitful partnership with your association in the collective effort to advance the development of the public service and the state as a whole,” Abiodun said.

“We acknowledge the immense value your experience and knowledge have brought to the fore, and we shall continue to seek your counsel and expertise as we chart the path forward for the progress and prosperity of Ogun State.”

“Rest assured that the foundations of excellence you have helped establish in the public administration of Ogun State will remain strong, and that the legacy of your contributions will continue to shape a brighter future for all.”

Chairman Adeniyi Abiola thanked Abiodun for prompt pension payments and sustained quarterly gratuity payments. Other awardees included Chief Oluneye Okuboyejo, Otunba Babatunde Osokoya, and Elder Adekunle Anwoo.

Posthumous awards were conferred on Chief A.A.K. Degun, Chief T.A. Taiwo, and Chief E.V.O. Koleoso. In August, the Ogun State government distributed N100m retirement benefits to 86 Ilushin Estate Limited retirees.

Commissioner Bolu Owotomo presented the cheques, marking a new chapter in the Estate’s sustainable growth. This follows the Nigeria Union of Pensioners’ commendation of Governor Abiodun for releasing N5.3 billion in gratuities owed by previous administrations.
