Southampton midfielder, Joe Aribo, has expressed his disappointment and shame over the Saints’ current position at the bottom of the English Premier League (EPL) log.
Ivan Juric’s side suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the St Mary’s Stadium last Saturday, widening the gap to safety to 17 points.
Aribo described the team’s position as embarrassing, stating that he is a winner and that the current situation is a difficult time in his career.
“I’m going to speak for myself personally, of course, it’s embarrassing. We play football to win,” the Nigeria international told the Daily Echo.
“I’m a winner and it’s just a difficult time in my career for me, obviously, with what’s going on with results. I think the boys have to stick together.”
