Obaship: Five Candidates Nominated for Towulade of Akinale Kingdom

The selection process for the next Towulade of Akinale, in Ewekoro Local Government of Ogun State has gained momentum as families have nominated five candidates to ascend the revered throne.

The nomination process which took place today at Akinale town, was conducted and monitored by the Ewekoro Local Government Chairman, Hon Isiaka Adesina represented by the Secretary to the local government, Hon Adewale Aladeselu, among other officers in the local government.

The candidates nominated were, Olumide Ogunleye, Sulaiman Olayinka Yusuf, Rasaq Anjorin Olabode, Oluwasoji Amoo and Oluwaseyi Adediran

In attendance included the the Oluwo Akinale, Chief Taiwo Egunsola, Babalaje of Akinale, Chief Yemitan Olusesi, Ajiroba, Chief Kehinde Akinremi,Bobajiroro, Tajudeen Lasisi, Abese, Chief Ganiu Lasisi, Chief Mrs Bukola Ajani, Gbadewolu Akinale, Adegboyega Idowu Otun, Chief SA Adediran Ekerin, Chief Olusoji Amoo, Akinrogun.

Others were, Chief Monsuru, Lukotun, Chief Akinleye Apagunpote, Chief Rasaq Anjorin, Jagunna, Chief Mukaila Dagunro, Chief Isaiah Egunsola, Balogun/Adele, Chief Kunle Afolabi Olori Odo, Balee Asore, Chief Taofeek Saola, Balee Ewekoro, Chief Suraj, Balee Ijako Awaye, Chief Lukman, Agbaakin amongst others.

It would be recalled that late Towulade of Akinale, Oba Dr. Olufemi Ogunleye, joined his ancestors at the age of 79.

Following the passing of the previous monarch, the traditional selection process where family of each candidates nominated name of their eligible candidate.

While speaking, the secretary to Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Aladeselu said they are their to monitor the selection process and submit candidates names to ministry of local government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Hon. Aladeselu who commended the peaceful process said the final selection will be communicated to the family in due time.
