Popular Fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, narrowly escaped harm on Sunday after his convoy was violently attacked in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State.
The shocking incident occurred in the afternoon when suspected hoodlums stoned and opened fire on Pasuma’s convoy, which included a black Hummer Jeep and a white Hilux truck. Eyewitnesses confirmed that both vehicles sustained visible damage, but it remains unconfirmed whether anyone in the entourage was injured.
A video circulating on social media captured the chaotic aftermath, with screams and a voice in Pidgin exclaiming, “Kasala don burst for Ikire. They don attack us. They carry gun shoot us but God dey.”
Local businesses and residents were thrown into panic, and normal activities were disrupted temporarily in the area.
Pasuma was reportedly in Osun State for a musical performance, though full details of the visit are still unclear. Attempts by journalists to reach the singer or his management team for comments have so far been unsuccessful.
As of the time of filing this report, the Osun State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement or confirm any arrests.
The incident adds to rising concerns over insecurity in parts of Osun State.
