President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday hosted the Director-General and Global Liaison of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership (NCSP), Mr. Joseph Tegbe, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, for a strategic briefing on the status of the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and China.
During the meeting, Mr. Tegbe provided the president with a comprehensive update on the activities of the NCSP, which was established to strengthen economic and diplomatic ties between the two nations. He highlighted the significant progress recorded since the strategic partnership agreement was signed between President Tinubu and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
According to Tegbe, the NCSP has been engaging key stakeholders in the Chinese government and business sectors to attract foreign investments into critical areas of Nigeria’s economy, including infrastructure, manufacturing, agriculture, technology, healthcare, education, and mineral development.
President Tinubu commended the efforts of the NCSP under Tegbe’s leadership and acknowledged the tangible strides made in aligning Nigeria’s international cooperation with its national development goals. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to using the partnership to drive industrial growth and economic transformation.
The President also directed the NCSP to fast-track the implementation of priority projects that will yield real and measurable benefits for Nigerians. He stressed the importance of the Nigeria-China relationship in achieving his government’s economic and industrialization agenda.
The Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership is a major pillar of Nigeria’s foreign and economic policy, with both countries aiming to explore deeper collaboration in trade, infrastructure development, energy, and human capital growth.
