Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has once again turned down a massive offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, choosing to continue his football career in Europe amid strong interest from top clubs.
The Saudi Pro League side, now managed by former Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi, had placed Osimhen at the top of their transfer wishlist ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. In their latest move, they offered the 26-year-old a jaw-dropping salary package of €120 million over three years, translating to €40 million per year.
Despite the huge financial incentive, Osimhen rejected the deal — marking the third time he has turned down Al Hilal. Reports by French outlet Foot Mercato noted that the proposal “was quite impressive but ultimately did not convince the player.” The report further revealed that Osimhen “has decided to reject Al Hilal’s offer and now wishes to take his time before choosing his next club.”
Italian outlet Calciomercato also confirmed the rejection, stating that Al Hilal had previously offered the striker €30m, €35m, and €45m per year in failed attempts to secure his signature.
A post on X (formerly Twitter) by Onyebuchi Onokala, a source close to the player, confirmed the development.
“Victor Osimhen officially turns down Saudi club Al Hilal first offer. It was the same offer they made last year,” he posted.
Onokala also hinted that a top Italian club is ready to meet Osimhen’s wage demands, while Turkish champions Galatasaray are making strong moves for his signature. The Turkish club, where Osimhen previously impressed during a loan spell, has reportedly tabled a new salary offer of €26 million per year in a bid to retain one of Europe’s most prolific strikers.
During his previous stint at Galatasaray, Osimhen scored 37 goals in 41 matches, further elevating his reputation across Europe.
Meanwhile, football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed via X that Napoli and Al Hilal had reached a €75m agreement, but the Nigerian striker declined the move.
“Despite agreement between club to club with Napoli for €75m fee, Osimhen says no to the Saudi Pro League club. Galatasaray will insist on signing him with the race now open again,” Romano posted.
Osimhen, who is currently on holiday in Nigeria, remains focused on continuing his football journey in Europe, where interest in him is expected to grow even more in the coming weeks.
