Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, is set to make history as the headliner of the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup Final halftime show, scheduled for July 13, 2025, at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, USA.

The announcement was made on Monday by FIFA, revealing that Tems will perform alongside American superstar Doja Cat and Colombian reggaeton artist J Balvin. The show is being produced by Global Citizen and curated by Chris Martin, lead vocalist of Coldplay.

The performance will be available for free on DAZN.com, making it accessible to fans around the world.

“We are going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment — to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund,” Tems said. “I can’t wait — see you at the Club World Cup final!”

This marks a significant milestone in Tems’ international career and places her among a growing list of Nigerian artists making waves on the global stage.

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will be the first edition of the expanded format, featuring 32 teams from across the globe. The tournament kicks off on June 14 and will be played in 12 stadiums across 11 U.S. cities.

Tems’ involvement in the event highlights FIFA’s continued push to merge football with global entertainment, while also promoting philanthropic efforts such as the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
