A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Temitope Adewale, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working diligently to restore Nigeria’s greatness through ongoing economic and infrastructural reforms.
Adewale, who represents Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency I and chairs the House Committee on Transportation, made this known in a statement on Monday following a visit to President Tinubu in Lagos.
He stated that the president’s efforts to reduce poverty and reposition the economy were already yielding results, citing improvements in key economic indicators.
“The administration has spread projects across all 36 states with the ultimate goal of improving the lives of Nigerians,” Adewale said.
Describing the visit as a “son’s visit to his father,” the lawmaker praised President Tinubu’s humility, simplicity, and listening ability, calling him a leader who speaks from the heart.
“Asiwaju’s humility, warm laughter, and ability to listen remind me that true leadership goes beyond titles. It’s about how you make people feel,” he added.
According to Adewale, Nigeria’s economy is showing signs of recovery and stability under Tinubu’s leadership. He claimed that the local currency has remained relatively stable over the last two years and that the volatility in the foreign exchange market is gradually reducing.
He also noted significant improvements in the energy sector, saying:
“For the first time in many years, we now have refineries that are refining fuel for local consumption.”
He further praised recent incentives introduced by the Tinubu administration to boost technical and vocational education, which he said is essential for national development.
Adewale contrasted the current situation with what he described as the economic challenges inherited in 2023, including high debt levels and poor foreign direct investment (FDI) figures.
“FDI fell from $2.2 billion in 2014 to just $0.47 billion in 2022. But things are changing under this administration, as promised in the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda.”
He also noted that state governors across party lines are now receiving better allocations, which has led to increased cooperation and alignment with the federal government.
“You can now understand why opposition leaders are getting closer to the President and finding the APC more attractive,” Adewale said.
He concluded by affirming that President Tinubu remains committed to meeting the aspirations of Nigerians and steering the country toward a more prosperous future.
