I Lost 100% Of My Business After Criticising Nigerian Pastors – Daddy Freeze

Controversial media personality, Daddy Freeze, has revealed that he lost all of his business opportunities after he began publicly criticising Nigerian pastors.

Speaking during an interview on the Leadership podcast hosted by Stephen Akintayo, Daddy Freeze recounted how his once-thriving career as a master of ceremonies (MC) collapsed completely as a result of his outspoken views.

He explained that prior to his controversial stance, he charged as much as ₦1.5 million per event when the dollar was valued at ₦150, earning about $10,000 every two months — approximately $60,000 annually — solely from hosting events.

However, since taking a public position against prominent pastors in Nigeria, he has not worked as an MC since 2019.

“When I came after Nigerian pastors, I lost 100% of my business at the initial stage,” Freeze said. “It got so bad that after like two years, I couldn’t get MC jobs. I used to get one or two gigs a month before.”

He further narrated an incident where a client who had paid him in advance eventually had to cancel the event because attendees threatened to boycott after seeing his name on the flier.

“I had one or two gigs here and there, but the one they agreed to pay, they paid me upfront. Then the flier came out and everybody said they were not going to attend,” he said.

“Because I hadn’t made money in a long time, I spent the advance. When the organiser called, I told him we had agreed, and he said, ‘If it’s about the upfront, you can keep it.’”

Daddy Freeze has been a vocal critic of some Nigerian pastors, frequently challenging their teachings and practices, especially regarding tithes and prosperity doctrines.
