The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, has reaffirmed his commitment to leading the All Progressives Congress (APC) back to power in Osun State.

Oyetola made this known on Thursday during the inauguration and award ceremonies organised by the Iron Ladies Group, a political association within the Osun APC, held in Osogbo. Represented at the event by the former Director-General of the State Bureau of Social Services, Mr. Richard Tinubu, Oyetola emphasized the need for unity within the party as the state prepares for the 2026 governorship election.

“I will provide leadership for APC and I will work hard to return the party to power in 2026,” he declared.

Osun State is scheduled to hold its next governorship election on August 8, 2026, with the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, expected to seek re-election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Oyetola also urged members of the Iron Ladies Group to intensify efforts in mobilising support for the APC and President Bola Tinubu. “Go into serious mobilisation for APC,” he said, encouraging them to continue rallying behind President Tinubu as he works to improve the country’s economy.

Earlier in the event, the State Coordinator of the Iron Ladies Group, Adesola Ayangbile, explained that the group was formed to build a network of politically active women committed to mutual support and mentorship. She added that the association would continue to champion the welfare of women and children.

Ayangbile announced that the group had adopted the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, as its preferred aspirant for the APC governorship ticket in 2026. She also pledged the group’s support for President Tinubu’s re-election campaign in 2027.

Receiving an award on behalf of her husband, Dr. Shekinat Oyebamiji, who represented the NIWA boss, expressed gratitude for the endorsement. She assured members of the group that Bola Oyebamiji would live up to their expectations if elected governor.
