Sagamu, Ogun State, June 16, 2025

As part of their 25th anniversary celebration, the Class of 2000 of MECCOSA (Methodist Comprehensive College Old Students Association), Sagamu has gifted their alma mater with a beautifully constructed interlocked road, a legacy project aimed at giving back and enhancing the school’s environment.

The initiative was undertaken under the purposeful leadership of the Class President, Mr. Aliu Kamiyo FCA, and implemented through the Anniversary and Finance Committee chaired by Hon. (Barrister) Solomon Oluwaseyi Osho. The project involved the complete removal of the old dusty footpath and the laying of modern interlocking paving blocks along a major corridor within the school premises.

“This is our way of saying thank you to the institution that shaped us,” said Hon. Osho. “It’s a collective gesture of love, unity, and responsibility.”

Mr. Aliu Kamiyo FCA also commended the spirit of togetherness that made the project a success, emphasising the importance of alumni giving back to their roots.

“This milestone shows the power of unity and shared vision. Our goal was not just to celebrate, but to leave a mark,” he said.

The project adds both aesthetic and functional value to the school and has already been well-received by staff and students alike. It also reflects the enduring camaraderie and purpose-driven spirit that has kept MECCOSA Class of 2000 together over the years.

Members of the class converged on campus for a memorable reunion which included site inspection, prayer sessions, group photos and heartfelt reflections on their journey from students to changemakers.

“We may have left the school in the year 2000, but the school has never left us,” one alumnus shared during the event.

With this act of generosity, MECCOSA Class of 2000 has not only honoured their past but also invested in the future, paving the way quite literally for generations of students to come.
