A pastor and Chairman of the Kuroloja Community Development Association (CDA), Aderibigbe, who is affiliated with the Living Truth Centre Church, has been arraigned before a magistrate court in the Ojodu Abiodun area of Ogun State.
The arraignment follows allegations of felony, breach of public peace, and incitement to violence.
Aderibigbe allegedly provoked one Funmi Obaseki by erecting a street banner labeled “Johnson Street,” despite a standing court judgment that officially recognized the street as “Mo Funmi Obaseki Crescent.”
This act, according to the court, violated Section 84 of the Criminal Code and is punishable under the Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
It was gathered that, a High Court in Ifo had ruled in favor of Funmi Obaseki, declaring that the proper name of the street is “Mo Funmi Obaseki Crescent.”
Justice S.T. Bello, who presided over the case, affirmed that the local government had no official record of “Johnson Street” and had approved Obaseki’s application after all necessary procedures were followed.
“The 1st respondent shall re-erect the signpost bearing ‘Mo Funmi Obaseki Crescent,’ having fulfilled the requirements.
The applicant will bear the cost of ₦75,000 for the new signpost, which has already been paid,” Justice Bello stated in the ruling.
Pastor Aderibigbe was granted bail in the sum of ₦100,000 with one surety.
The case has been adjourned to July 8, 2025, for further hearing.
