A political group known as Egba Women Progressive Forum has officially adopted the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, Yayi as its preferred choice for the forthcoming 2027 Governorship election.
The official adoption was made known on Tuesday by the President of the group, Hon. Yusuf Olayinka at an empowerment programme organized by the President at Akinrogun House, Leme, Abeokuta, Ogun State
Olayinka while speaking with newsmen disclosed that the group wants Senator Yayi to succeed Governor Dapo Abiodun, describing him as a progressive man.
She noted that that group has decided to adopt Yayi as their choice because of his giant strides not only in Ogun West but across the state, saying that there is no going back on it.
Olayinka submitted that Senator Yayi has the capacity, capability and competence to saddle as the Governor of Ogun State
The President vowed that the group will mobilise more votes and support for Yayi ahead of the 2027 Governorship election, saying that they have over 500 members in Abeokuta South Local Government.
She said” We are here today to empower some of our members with cash and to officially adopt the performing Senator, Senator Yayi who has proven to the Citizens of Ogun State that he deserves to be the next Governor. Egba Women Progressive Forum was founded during the administration of the former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba and since then we still maintain our good name. We assist ourselves here in this group, we give cash to some of our members who need support and today we are empowering over 100 members with cash as to support their businesses.
“We have decided to adopt Yayi because of his giant strides, when we go to some places in the State ,you will see the good work of the Senator and for just a Senator to be doing all these that tells you that if he becomes the next Governor, he will perform better and these are the reasons, we said no going back on our decision to endorse Yayi as our preferred choice ahead of 2027 Governorship election” He concluded
