Nigerian Afrobeats singer Ayo Maff has achieved a major breakthrough in his career as his debut album, Prince of the Street, has claimed the number one position on the Nigerian Apple Music Album Chart.
The fast-rising artist took to social media to celebrate the accomplishment, expressing deep gratitude to his mother and his fans, popularly known as the “Maffians.”
“Mummy, I did it again in just one day. Mummy, after everything we went through, look at your boy now. Daddy would have been so proud. Maffians, you guys are not real,” Ayo Maff wrote on his X handle.
In a post accompanying his celebration, the artist revealed that the album was not produced in a traditional music studio. Instead, he recorded all the tracks in makeshift locations including bedrooms, kitchens, and living rooms—underscoring his message that determination and passion can triumph over limited resources.
“Not one song on this album was recorded in a proper studio. Everything was either recorded in a bedroom, kitchen, or a living room! I documented everything! Please don’t let anything limit you. You can create greatness anywhere. It’s all in the mind, not the place! PRINCE OF THE STREET out now!!” he stated.
Prince of the Street is already making waves across streaming platforms, and fans have praised the authenticity and emotional depth of the project.
