Afrobeats superstars Burna Boy, Tems, and Davido have been announced as headliners for the fifth edition of Afro Nation, set to take place from July 9 to 11, 2025, in Portimão, Portugal.
Joining the Nigerian trio on the global stage are renowned international acts including Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, Amaarae, Booba, and others.
According to the organisers, The Malachite Group (TMG), the event will be a grand celebration marking the festival’s fifth anniversary, with surprises and unique experiences for attendees.
“Our fifth anniversary will be a massive celebration, packed with surprises and not-to-be-missed events. We can’t wait to bring the community together again on the beach… Together we move,” the organisers said.
This marks Burna Boy’s second appearance at Afro Nation, having previously performed during the festival’s debut edition in 2019. The Grammy-winning artist continues to solidify his reputation as one of Africa’s most influential music exports.
Tems, making her Afro Nation debut, is expected to deliver a highly anticipated performance following her rapid international rise. Her participation highlights her growing global appeal and musical impact.
Davido, a regular face at Afro Nation, returns to a stage that has served as a bridge between African music and global audiences.
Previous editions of Afro Nation have featured high-profile headliners such as Wizkid, Megan Thee Stallion, and Lil Baby, reinforcing the festival’s status as a leading platform for African diasporic music.
Founded in 2019, Afro Nation was established to celebrate the African diaspora through dance, food, fashion, and music. The Portugal edition continues to play a vital role in elevating African voices and culture on the world stage.
