AS Monaco have confirmed the signing of French midfielder Paul Pogba on a free transfer, marking the player’s return to French football following a doping suspension.

Pogba, a World Cup winner with France, has signed a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 side, which will keep him at the club until June 30, 2027.

“AS Monaco are delighted to announce the arrival of Paul Pogba,” the club said in an official statement. “The French World Champion has signed a 2-season deal and is now tied to the Principality until 30 June 2027.”

The 32-year-old joins Monaco after his contract with Juventus was terminated in November 2024. The termination came after Pogba tested positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a banned substance, resulting in an initial four-year suspension. The ban was later reduced to 18 months, clearing the way for his return to professional football.

Pogba, who began his senior career at Manchester United before moving to Juventus and then back to the English club, now has the opportunity to restart his career in his home country with Monaco.
