Members of All Progressives Congress, APC in ward 8, Abeokuta South Local Government, Ogun State on Friday launched a political group in support of the governorship ambition of the Senator, representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.
The event had in attendance notable APC leaders in the local government, the Alawo Erin of Egba Land, Hon. Nurudeen Olaleye, former House of Assembly Member, Hon. Allen Taylor, former SLG, Hon. Nurudeen Ayorinde, Hon. Ajadi, Mrs Tutu Waye, the Party Secretary, Engr. Ayo Adebesin and all ward chairmen across the local government were present at the event.
The leader of the ward who was a former ward chairman, Mr Fasiu Showunmi in his remarks said the whole ward 8 has endorsed Senator Yayi as the next Governor in 2027, saying that there is no going back on it.
He said that they have taken the decision because of the giant strides of the Senator not only in Ogun West but Ogun Central.
Mr Showunmi vowed that ward 8 will vote massively for Senator Yayi in 2027, saying that the lawmaker is the right choice.
He said ” We are here today to launch a group in support of the performing Senator, Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, the man has proven to us that he deserves to be the next Governor. We all can see his achievements across the state, this is to tell us that he has what it takes to the be the next Governor and no going back on this in ward 8, we will stand by him and we vote massively for him to take over from Governor Dapo Abiodun, our amiable Governor and leader”.
Also one of the leaders in the ward, Mr Semiu Ayinde, popularly known as Eshanu Omo Yin” empowered over twenty people at the end of the program with cash, promising to do this on every ward meeting.
The political leaders in their separate interviews with our correspondent urged the party members to support Senator Yayi in 2027, saying that he is is capable to pilot the affairs of the State and will not disappoint them if voted for.
