The lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Aderemi Oseni, has declared that no political force or coalition can prevent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from winning re-election in the 2027 general elections.

Oseni made this statement during the inauguration of the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF) Assembly Leaders across the 33 local government areas and wards in Oyo State. He stated that President Tinubu would remain in office beyond 2027 despite the formation of an opposition alliance.

His comment followed the recent announcement by a coalition of opposition leaders who adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as their platform for the 2027 polls. Key figures in the coalition include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, former Senate President David Mark, former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi, and former Osun Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

Oseni reaffirmed ROCOF’s support for Tinubu and dismissed the opposition coalition’s chances. He also vowed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would reclaim power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State in 2027, pledging to lead efforts to ensure APC’s victory in the state.

He said, “We are taking over power in Oyo State come 2027. APC will produce a governor for this state in 2027. I will lead the battle, whether I become the governorship flag bearer or not. I will be very active in the process. In fact, I will lead the battle to ensure our party, the APC, returns to power in Oyo State.

“What I did in Ido/Ibarapa in the last election is enough to speak for me. I’m the only one in Oyo State that wasn’t challenged in court after the election because of the massive number of votes I secured. I delivered all polling units in my constituency for President Tinubu.”

Oseni also praised ROCOF, claiming it had become the largest political gathering in the state.

“ROCOF’s meeting is now bigger than any other political party in the state. Go to Iseyin, go to all the geopolitical zones of the state and confirm this. Nine out of ten party leaders in the state are with us today. This shows we are doing very well,” he said.

He pledged full support for ROCOF members with political aspirations, promising to back them in their political journeys.

“This gathering marks not just the start of a journey but the birth of a movement inspired by hope and our collective commitment to the people of Oyo State and Nigeria at large. Today’s gathering marks the official inauguration of our leadership across all 33 local governments and wards in Oyo State, which we plan to expand across Nigeria.

“ROCOF is more than just a committee; it is a movement for positive change, a family bound by friendship, empathy, and a shared vision for our state.

“ROCOF is a non-political, non-religious, and non-ethnic forum uniting individuals across Oyo State and Nigeria. Our mission is to deliver Oyo State for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. Our vision is for a rebirth of Oyo State and Nigeria built on justice, equity, accountability, good governance, shared prosperity, and sustainable development.”

Oseni also urged support for President Tinubu’s administration, defending the removal of the petrol subsidy as a necessary step for long-term growth.

“This sacrifice opens doors to greater investments in education, healthcare, and infrastructure. We must support and partner with Mr President in this transformative journey,” he said.
