According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Wizkid was born on July 16, 1990, in Surulere, Lagos. He began his music journey at the age of 11 in a church group before launching his professional career. He signed with Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) in 2009 and gained prominence with his debut single “Holla at Your Boy” in 2010. His first studio album, Superstar, followed in 2011.
Over the years, Wizkid has earned numerous accolades, including a Grammy Award for his collaboration with Beyoncé on “Brown Skin Girl,” and international recognition through collaborations with global stars like Drake, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, and Skepta.
