According to the statement, President Tinubu also renewed the appointment of Engineer Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) for a second and final term.

Both appointments are expected to take immediate effect.

Before his new role, Professor Aliyu served as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, where he gained experience in research, education, and institutional leadership.

The Presidency stated that his appointment reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening key institutions in the petroleum sector and enhancing capacity development within Nigeria’s energy industry.

It also noted that the renewal of Abdulaziz’s tenure followed an assessment of his performance, during which the transmission company recorded improvements in grid stability, expansion of transmission capacity, and modernization of the power system.

President Tinubu urged both appointees to carry out their responsibilities with diligence, integrity, and dedication to national service in line with the administration’s development agenda.
