Residents of the Oke-Afa community in the Obafemi-Owode local government area of Ogun State have commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for his promise to reconstruct the Magboro-Makoji Road and the underbridge access road which serves Magboro and Oke-Afa communities during his recent launching of Rice Mill at Magboro.

The community is also using this medium to draw the attention of the Governor to the deplorable state of Oke-Afa Road that leads to the Expressway from Kajola, urging him to take advantage of economy of scale by extending the construction work to the 2- 2-kilometre Oke-Afa Road.

The CDC Chairman of the Oke-Afa community, Sunday Shobowale, said: “The CDC leadership also wishes to remind the Governor that the construction of Oke-Afa Road was one of the cardinal campaign promises of his administration during the electioneering campaign.

“The deplorable state of the community road and constant flooding during rainy seasons has previously been brought to the Governor’s attention.”

Speaking on the positive impact of citing a rice mill in the area for the benefit of the state, Sobowale hailed the Governor’s effort and pledged continued support for the success of his administration.

He, however, stated that Oke-Afa community has not enjoyed the dividends of democracy and overwhelming support for the APC administration in any form since its inception.
