The Otun Seriki of Oke-Ona Egbaland, High Chief Olalekan Tunde Ishola, on Saturday celebrated all sons and daughters of Egbaland, both at home and in the diaspora, on the occasion of Lisabi Day.
Chief Ishola, who was at the event celebration today at the Ake palace,
described Lisabi Day as a significant cultural celebration that reflects the rich heritage, unity and resilience of Egba people.
He noted that the annual event serves as a reminder of the bravery and legacy of their forebears while also inspiring present and future generations to uphold the values of courage, integrity, and communal progress.
High Chief Ishola, an aspirant for the Ogun State House of Assembly, Abeokuta North State Constituency, also felicitated with Egba indigenes across the globe, urging them to remain proud ambassadors of their heritage and to continue contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of Egbaland, regardless of their location.
He also paid glowing tribute to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, for his exemplary leadership, wisdom and unwavering commitment to the unity and advancement of Egbaland.
The Oke-Ona Chief commended the Oba Gbadebo fatherly role in preserving the customs and traditions of the Egba people while fostering peace, stability, and development across the land.
While wishing all Egba sons and daughters a memorable Lisabi Day celebration, High Chief Ishola prayed for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Egbaland, reaffirming his dedication to the collective growth and wellbeing of the people.
