The Presidency has denied rumors of a strained relationship between President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, describing such claims as “a lie from the pit of hell.”
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha, stated that Shettima enjoys Tinubu’s total confidence and full support.
In a tribute marking Shettima’s 58th birthday, Nkwocha said:

Nkwocha praised Shettima’s leadership qualities, statesmanship, and dedication to Tinubu, calling him “a beacon of dedication and commitment.”
He emphasized that Shettima’s loyalty to Tinubu is “absolute and unalloyed,” and his support for the President’s initiatives and vision for Nigeria has been unwavering.
Nkwocha noted that Shettima has brought valuable experience and expertise to the administration, particularly in economic policy, social justice, and human development.
He concluded that allegations of Shettima being sidelined are baseless and contrary to the collaborative and harmonious working relationship between Tinubu and Shettima.
“In the history of Nigeria’s Presidency, no Vice President has enjoyed the total confidence and full support of his principal like Shettima.”
