Excitement as Rotarian Ayodele W Fakiyesi becomes 13th President of Rotary Club of Obantoko

Rotarian Ayodele Williams Fakiyesi has been elected as the 13th President of Rotary Club of Obantoko over the weekend.

The event which was held at the Promax hotel, Asero, Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital was greeted with funfair and glamour.

Also, the colourful ceremony also witnessed award presentation, induction of Board of Directors and introduction of new members of the Club.

Rotarian Omotoke Ilesanmi, however, emerged as the President – elect of Rotary Club of Obantoko.

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludsisi Elemide was the father of the day while Royal father of the day was Alawowo of Awowo land, Owu kingdom, Oba Abdulgafar Olasunkanmi Tijani.

The guest Speaker, Evang. Kolade Segun-Okeowo and other speakers at the event, charged Rotarians on service to humanity and selfless service.

In his acceptance speech, the newly installed President, Rotarian Ayodele Williams Fakiyesi said the position would further make him socially responsible.

He said the focus of the club is the seven cardinal areas which includes maternal, child health projects, Membership Development, Retention through Rotary activities, club learning and leadership.

His words “By the special grace of God we shall steward the club’s resources in terms of treasure and talents efficiently and responsibly well, for ta better and sustainable Rotary club of Obantoko Rotary as a service club an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide.As Rotarians,we provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standard in all vocation and help build a goodwill and peace in the world”.

While speaking further, he said “My rotary life is not by accident.The passion and enthusiast to serve, help the needy,put smiles on people’s face didn’t just start today,it has been a life long journey of a great personality with a magnanimous heart who place so much significant in the happiness of others and always prioritize”service above self”.

He said “I am very glad today , Rotary gave me the platform to exhibits all of those potentials and the quest to be more socially responsible”.

On activities of the Club, he said “Our focus for this ‘magic of Rotary ‘a year shall cut across the seven (7)area of focus. This is evident in projects and programs we have done during our maternal and child health projects. Membership Development and Retention through Rotary activities,club learning and leadership”.

He therefore charged members”There are many needy people in our community and the world whose only hope will come from Rotary. Let us all leave here ready to make their lives better in any way that we can. As Rotarians it will not be good enough to give only what we have left or what we can spare,but we must truly give off ourselves with the new vigor in support of the ideas of Rotary”.

Fakiyesi concluded ” Like let us lead the way as rotary share it’s legacy of”service above self .We will be fortified with the necessary knowledge, skills and tools as we all “share and experience the magic of Rotary”.
