Nigerian musicians, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Asake, Tems, Darkoo, Ayra Starr and others dominated the winners’ list at the 2025 Africa Arts Entertainments Awards, AAEA.
Nigerian music stars won multiple categories at this year’s AAEA Music Awards. This was announced by the AAEA on its official page.
Wizkid’s Piece of My Heart featuring US singer Brent Faiyaz won the Best Afro-R&B award, while Davido and American singer Chris Brown won Best Global Collaboration for their song Hmm.
Asake’s song MMS featuring Wizkid emerged as Best Afro-Native award winner. British-Nigerian singer Darkoo also won Best Diasporan Act with her hit single Favourite Girl, whose remix features Rema.
Burna Boy was named Overall Male Artist in Africa, while Tyla clinched Overall Female Artist of the Year and Best Female Artist, Southern Africa.
Tems was honoured as Best Global African Female Artiste, while OdumoduBlvck won Best Rapper in West Africa.
Street pop-star Seyi Vibez emerged Best Male Artist, West Africa, and Ayra Starr won Best Female Artist, West Africa.
