Milan Rejects Real Betis’ Offer For Chukwueze

Italian football giants AC Milan have turned down an offer from Spanish club Real Betis for Nigerian international winger, Samuel Chukwueze.

Chukwueze, 26, endured a disappointing 2024/2025 campaign with the Rossoneri, scoring just three goals and providing two assists in 26 Serie A appearances. Due to his below-par performance and Milan’s failure to qualify for any European competition next season after finishing eighth in the league, the club is open to selling him this summer.

However, Milan reportedly considers Betis’ proposal too low and below their expectations, especially considering they spent €21.1 million plus up to €7 million in add-ons to sign Chukwueze from Villarreal in 2023.

According to Football Italia, the club is facing a dilemma over multiple transfer negotiations, as most suitors are tabling offers far below the club’s valuation for key players. Apart from Chukwueze, Milan is also seeking to offload midfielder Ismael Bennacer and left-back Theo Hernandez to generate much-needed revenue. But the offers received so far have been underwhelming.

“Olympique Marseille are unwilling to pay the €12 million option for Bennacer, while Atletico Madrid’s bid for Hernandez is reportedly only €15 million,” the report stated. “Negotiations for Chukwueze are still in early stages, and Betis’ bid does not match Milan’s investment in the player.”

With Tijjani Reijnders reportedly set to join Manchester City, Milan is hoping to boost their finances through player sales. But unless more competitive offers arrive, they risk missing out on crucial transfer revenue.

Chukwueze’s future at San Siro remains uncertain as Milan weigh their options amidst increasing financial pressure.
