A mammoth crowd gathered as the Osile Oke-Ona Egbaland, HRM Oba (Dr.) Adedapo Adewale Tejuoso, on Saturday installed Engr. Chief Tajudeen Olalekan Ishola as the Otun Seriki of Oke-Ona Egbaland.

The installation ceremony which was conducted by the traditional council of Chiefs in Oke-Ona, took place at the Osile Palace in Sapon, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

While addressing journalists shortly after the installation, HRM Oba Tejuoso praised the newly Otun Seriki of Oke-Ona, Engr. Chief Ishola, describing him as a true son of Oke-Ona Egba who has made a significant impact not only in Ogun State but also in Nigeria.

Oba Tejuoso explained that Engr. Chief Ishola’s achievements and contributions have earned him recognition as a distinguished son of Oke-Ona Egba land.

The monarch expressed gratitude to God for Engr. Chief Ishola’s life and achievements, wishing him continued success in his new role.

According to Oba Tejuoso “The impact he has made is that, first and foremost, we are lucky to be true born of Ã’kè-onà Ègbá of Ibogun.

That in itself is a great achievement that God Himself has granted him. To be an Ã’kè-onà Ègbá indigene is quite a big deal from God.”

“As you know, they say, “Ã’kè-onà ni iyò Ègbá”—Òkè-onà is the salt of Ègbá land. Of course, you cannot cook any soup or prepare any food—if the salt is not there, it cannot be palatable.”

“So, to be an indigene of Ã’kè-onà Ègbá, one must be very, very grateful to God that He has not just put you anywhere, but in Ã’kè-onà Ègbá. And he has distinguished himself since he grew up, and he is an engineer.”

“He deserves to be honored, and that’s why we are honoring him today. I sincerely hope he will just keep on impressing us in Ã’kè-onà Ègbá and keep on doing his lawful duties with us in Ã’kè-onà Ègbá.”, Kabiyesi concluded.

The train of the event after the installation moved to the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) for the reception, where guests were entertained with food, drinks and gifts, accompanied by a live musical band by Alhaji Sefiu Alao, popularly known as Omo Oko, who delivered an excellent performance to the audience and create an unforgettable experience for people in attendance.
