Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca will be without two key players, Levi Colwill and Liam Delap, when the Blues face Brazilian side Fluminense in the semi-final of the Club World Cup on Tuesday night.

Both Colwill and Delap are suspended for the fixture after receiving their second yellow cards of the tournament in Chelsea’s match against Palmeiras, ruling them out of the crucial clash.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Maresca revealed that new signing Joao Pedro is likely to step in for Delap in the striker role, further sparking speculation over Nicolas Jackson’s future at the club.

“Now with Levi and Liam out, we’ll find different solutions,” Maresca said during his pre-match press conference. “Joao Pedro is ready, and we also have Nico. For sure, we’ll find a solution.”

Maresca praised Pedro’s versatility in attack, saying, “I think Joao can play in all the attacking positions for Chelsea, and that is the difference with Nico. I see Nico as just a number 9, but I see Joao in different positions.”

The match is expected to be a tough test for Chelsea, with both teams vying for a spot in the final of the prestigious global tournament.
