The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, Emmanuel Ojo popularly known as SF has faced intense criticism on social media after claiming he didn’t receive any payment to defend the Governor’s controversial statement.
SF Ojo had jumped to the Governor’s defense amid criticism of Governor Abiodun neglect of deplorable roads in the Ogun state.
It would be recalled that Governor Abiodun recently called for patience, saying that eight years is not enough to fix bad roads in the state.
He said “I want to implore our people to be patient with us. We cannot fix all the bad roads in three years,” Mr Abiodun told journalists on Monday.
“In fact, no administration can reconstruct all the roads in Ogun State, not even in 8 years.”
Nationalreports observed that the Governor’s statement had sparked outrage among residents of Ogun State, who felt that it was an excuse for poor performance.
SF Ojo’s attempt to defend the statement only added fuel to the fire after the popular Nigeria blogger and influencer, Tunde Ednut posted it on his Instagram page with the caption “You wouldn’t hear no administration can fix road in 8 years when they’re campaigning, instead they will tell you that all the roads will be finished in just 6 months. “VOTE FOR ME” when they enter you will start hearing excuses.”
Social Media users ridiculed Ojo’s claim and his comments, with many seeing it as an attempt to spin the narrative and deflect criticism.
The Governor’s aide said the government under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun has made notable strides in the development of roads infrastructure in the state.
But the SF comments seems not acceptable by the social media users, with many questioning his motives, abusing and reigning curses over his defend.
One of the users @lavishman_20 questioned SF Ojo how much he was paid, but Ojo replied that he got zero naira from the government to defend the Governor’s controversial statement.
