Hon. ‘Tunji Akinosi, FNSE, Member of the House of Representatives for Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, has called for unity among the people of Ogun West in pursuit of the region’s governorship ambition in 2027.
Speaking at the 2024 Yewa Day celebration held last Saturday in the UK, Hon. Akinosi emphasized the importance of a unified front, noting that the “Ogun West Agenda” fosters greater cohesion and unity than the more narrow “Yewa Agenda.” Hon. Akinosi said “Politics is driven by shared interests, collaboration, and cohesion, not internal conflict.”
Hon. Akinosi commended the organizers of the event and expressed his gratitude to His Royal Majesty, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, who also serves as the Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas.
He praised the monarch for being a respected unifying force among both political leaders and traditional rulers, while also acknowledging the leadership challenges faced by the region. Hon. Akinosi further lauded the presence of Awori royal fathers at the event, viewing their participation as a symbol of the growing unity among traditional rulers in Ogun West.
Akinosi concluded by expressing hope, stating, May Almighty God grant us success in achieving our goal in Ogun 2027.
